How Educrest handles information about learners and the people who arrange their lessons

This policy explains what personal information Educrest collects when you ask us for a tutor, for yourself or for someone else, why we need it, who receives it and the choices you have. Educrest is responsible for this information as its controller, and handles it under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. The policy covers this website, our enquiry and booking process, and the lessons we arrange at home and online.
We collect what we need to find a suitable tutor and arrange lessons. Most of it comes from you, through the enquiry form, your messages and our calls with you.
Your name, mobile number and email address. If the lessons are for someone else, your relationship to the learner. Where the form asks for them, also your date of birth and gender.
The learner's name and the name they like to be called, date of birth, gender, the programme chosen and anything you tell us about their goals and how they learn. For a school student, also their school, school year or grade, curriculum, subjects, upcoming exams and target grades. For a university student or an adult, their course, workplace or goal where it matters for the lessons.
Whether lessons are at home or online, your emirate and area, the address where at-home lessons take place and its location on a map, the lesson length you prefer (60, 90 or 120 minutes), the days and times that suit you, your start date and any preference about the tutor.
If you tell us about a learning difficulty, disability or health condition, we treat it as sensitive information. We use it only to match a suitable tutor and plan lessons, and share it only with the tutor who teaches the learner.
If you sign in to follow your enquiry, the email address you use and the details needed to sign you in securely.
What you write to us by email, on WhatsApp, in the chat assistant or through the forms on this website, together with our replies.
Your device and browser type, IP address and the pages you visit. When analytics is switched on for this website and you accept it, we also record which advert or link brought you here, as the section on cookies and analytics explains.
Some of our learners are under 18. We handle information about them with extra care.
For a learner under 18, we collect their information from their parent or guardian, and with that adult's consent. The parent or guardian makes the enquiry, accepts the quote and stays our contact for the lessons.
If a learner under 18 sends an enquiry, we ask for a parent or guardian's details and confirm the enquiry with that adult before any lessons are arranged.
We ask for the details a tutor needs to teach well, such as the programme, school year, subjects and goals. We never use a child's information for advertising.
A parent or guardian can ask at any time to see, correct or delete their child's information, using the contact details at the end of this policy.
We use personal information for the purposes below, each resting on a reason UAE law recognises.
To understand what the learner needs and prepare a quote, in AED, for the lessons you ask about.
To find a tutor who teaches the learner's programme, subjects or curriculum at the right level, in the right place, at times that suit you.
To confirm the schedule, give the tutor the address for at-home lessons or the link for online ones, and tell you about any change.
To pass the quote you accept to our group's global platform, which issues the contract and takes payment.
To apply our safeguarding rules, look into any concern raised about a lesson and act on it.
To send occasional news about our tutoring, only if you have agreed to receive it. You can stop these messages at any time.
To see which pages help visitors and fix what gets in their way, using analytics only when it is switched on for this website and you have accepted it.
To keep the records the law requires and to answer lawful requests from UAE authorities.
Your consent; the need to take the steps you ask for before a contract and then to carry it out; our legal obligations; and, in rare cases, protecting a child's safety. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
We share personal information only with the people and organisations listed here. We never sell it.
The tutor matched to the learner receives what they need to teach: the learner's name, programme, level or school year, subjects, goals and schedule, and for at-home lessons the lesson address and a contact number.
Once you accept a quote, our group's global platform receives your name, contact details and the details of the booking, so it can issue the contract and take payment. You enter payment details on that platform, and this website never receives them.
Companies that host the website and its database, deliver our emails, look up addresses on a map, protect our forms from automated spam, power the chat assistant and, when switched on, measure visits to the site. Each may use the information only to provide its service to us.
When the law requires it, or when we believe a child is at risk of harm, we share information with the relevant UAE authorities.
Some of the information described here is stored or used outside the United Arab Emirates.
Our group's payment platform, the companies that host this website and its database, and some of the other services listed above operate from other countries. Online tutors may teach from abroad, and they receive the lesson details they need.
We send personal information abroad only on a basis UAE law allows: for example, where the destination country protects personal data to the standard the law expects, where a contract binds the recipient to protect it, or where the transfer is needed to provide the lessons you asked for.
You can ask us which countries your information goes to and how it is protected there.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use as few as we can.
These keep the website working and are always on. ec_consent remembers your cookie choice for 180 days. NEXT_LOCALE remembers the language of the site for a year. Signing in uses a session cookie that ends when you sign out or it expires, and our forms use a spam check that may set its own short-lived cookie.
These load only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner, and only when analytics is switched on for this website. Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_ followed by an id, which Google keeps for up to two years, to count visits. When a Google Ads account is connected, Google also sets _gcl_au for 90 days. Our own cookies are mkt_attr (90 days) and kf_attr (90 days), which remember the advert or link that brought you here, and kf_anon (365 days), a random id that lets us count returning visits. A visit id called kf_session is kept in your browser session and removed when you close the tab.
You can accept or decline analytics in the banner, and change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of each page. Declining removes the analytics cookies this website set. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block the cookies the website needs, signing in and sending forms may stop working.
We keep personal information for as long as we need it, and then remove it.
When an enquiry does not lead to lessons, we keep it for as long as we need to answer it and follow up, then delete it.
We keep these for as long as UAE law requires for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
We delete the information, or remove anything that identifies you or the learner.
We use practical safeguards suited to personal information, including information about children.
Only the staff and tutors who need information for your lessons can see it.
Information you send through this website travels over an encrypted connection.
Card and bank details are entered on our group's payment platform and stay there.
If a breach puts your information at risk, we tell you and the authorities as UAE law requires.
UAE data protection law gives you rights over your personal information and, if you are the parent or guardian of a learner under 18, over your child's. You can ask us to:
Explain what information we hold, why we use it, who receives it and how long we keep it, and give you a copy.
Fix information that is wrong or incomplete.
Erase information we no longer need for the purpose we collected it for, or that we hold without a lawful reason.
Restrict how we use it in certain cases, and stop using it for news and marketing at any time.
Give you your information in a common, machine-readable format, or send it to another provider where this is technically possible.
Object to a decision about you that was made only by automated processing and has a significant effect on you.
Where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time. What we did with your consent before then stays lawful.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information or a request, you can complain to the UAE Data Office. We would welcome the chance to put things right first, so please tell us too.
When we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we tell everyone with an open enquiry or booked lessons before it applies.
