Goals differ from one learner to the next: early counting for a young child, a school subject, an IELTS band score, a first piano grade, Python for a new role at work, a stronger command of Arabic, or help with a university course. This study will look at which subjects and skills people ask for, and how the mix changes from early years to adults.

A student working towards Cambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel International GCSE or the IB Diploma Programme needs help shaped by their own syllabus and exams. This study will look at which subjects and stages students ask for in each curriculum, and at which points in the school year the requests arrive.

Lessons can be booked by the learner themselves, by a parent or guardian for a child, or by someone else for a spouse, a parent or a colleague. This study will look at who is learning, who arranges the lessons, and how often a lesson is shared by a small group such as siblings or friends.

Online lessons with specialist tutors worldwide reach every emirate, and lessons at home are opening in Dubai and Abu Dhabi first, taught by UAE-resident tutors who hold a valid Private Teacher Work Permit. This study will look at which subjects learners in each emirate take online, and how they use lessons at home where those have opened.
