The terms for booking private tutoring with Educrest

Educrest arranges private tutoring in the United Arab Emirates for learners from early years to adults. Each lesson is live, with one tutor and one learner or a small group, either at home with a UAE tutor who holds a Private Teacher Work Permit or online with a specialist tutor. This website takes your enquiry and prepares your quote. The contract and payment are completed on our group's global platform, in UAE dirhams (AED).
These terms apply when you use this website, send an enquiry or book lessons through Educrest. Each quote we send you forms part of your agreement with us, and where a quote sets out something specific, such as the notice needed to move a lesson, the quote applies. Please read these terms before you send an enquiry. By sending one, you confirm that you accept them.

Educrest, the tutoring service described on this website.
The adult who books lessons: a student booking for themselves, or a parent, guardian or other adult booking for someone else.
The person who takes the lessons, from early years to adult.
The person who teaches the lessons, at home or online.
Our written proposal for your lessons. It sets out the tutor, lesson length, schedule, price in AED, and the notice period and refund terms that apply.
Our group's global platform, where you accept the contract and pay.
To book lessons through Educrest:
You must be 18 or over. A parent or guardian books for a student under 18 and stays our contact for their lessons.
When you book for a child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or act with that person's permission, and that you agree to us using the child's information as our privacy policy describes.
Give us accurate details about the student, including the programme and, for a school student, their curriculum and school year, and any learning or health needs a tutor should know about, and tell us when something changes.
A booking goes through four steps.
You tell us what the student wants to learn and why (for a school student, also the curriculum and school year), whether you want lessons at home or online, and the times that suit you. Sending an enquiry places you under no obligation.
We propose a tutor and send a quote in AED. It states the lesson length, the number and timing of lessons, the price, and the notice period and refund terms that apply.
We go through the quote with you and adjust it until it fits. Nothing is booked until you accept it.
You accept the contract and pay on the payment platform. Your lessons are booked once the steps set out in your quote are complete.
Every Educrest lesson is live, with one tutor and either one student or a small group of up to six, as your quote states.
Lessons last 60, 90 or 120 minutes, as stated in your quote.
At-home lessons take place at the address in your quote. They are opening in Dubai and Abu Dhabi first, and in other emirates as permit-holding tutors join.
Online lessons run over a video link and are available in every emirate. The student needs a steady internet connection, a quiet place to work, and a device with a camera and microphone.
Lesson times are given in Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4), including for tutors who teach online from abroad.
Every local tutor on Educrest holds a valid UAE private teacher permit.
Tutors who teach in your home live in the UAE and hold the Private Teacher Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation together with the Ministry of Education.
A tutor teaches in your home only while their permit is valid. If it lapses, that tutor stops at-home lessons until it is renewed, and we look for a replacement tutor for you.
Online tutors may teach from outside the UAE. A tutor without a UAE permit teaches online only.
You can ask us to confirm that your at-home tutor's permit is valid.
The match between a tutor and a student matters, and you can ask for a change.
If the fit is wrong, tell us. We look for another tutor who teaches the same subjects at the same level, at times that suit you, and propose them to you.
Once you agree to the new tutor, the remaining lessons in your quote continue with them.
If a tutor can no longer teach the student, for example because their permit has lapsed, we tell you as soon as we know and look for a replacement in the same way.
Any lessons left unused are handled as your quote sets out.
The notice period for moving or cancelling a lesson, and the refund terms, are stated in each quote. Please read them before you accept.
Tell us as early as you can. How a moved or cancelled lesson is treated depends on the notice you give, as your quote sets out.
If a tutor or Educrest has to cancel a lesson, we offer another time or a replacement tutor, or treat the lesson as your quote sets out.
Any refund follows the terms in your quote.
These terms leave in place every right you have under UAE consumer protection law.
Prices are quoted in UAE dirhams (AED) and paid on the payment platform.
The price for your lessons is the one in the quote you accept. The quote also states whether VAT applies.
Pay only through the payment platform. Card details are entered there, so this website never receives them.
A payment made directly to a tutor falls outside your agreement with Educrest, and the permit checks, safeguarding rules and tutor replacement in these terms cannot cover it.
If you want more lessons with a tutor you met through Educrest, please book them with us, so the permit checks, safeguarding rules and tutor replacement keep applying.
When a student is under 18, their safety comes first in every lesson.
When the student is a young child, a parent or guardian stays with them or close by for the whole of an at-home lesson. For older students under 18, an adult should be at home while the lesson takes place.
At-home lessons take place in a common area of the home, such as the living room or dining area. For a student under 18, it is a place where the family can see in.
A student under 18 joins from a shared area of the home where possible, and a parent or guardian is welcome to sit in.
Tutors arrange lessons with the parent or guardian, and contact a student under 18 only through channels the parent or guardian has agreed to.
A lesson is recorded only when the student (or, for a student under 18, their parent or guardian) and the tutor have both agreed beforehand.
Students, families and tutors treat each other with courtesy. Harassment, discrimination or unsafe behaviour by anyone can end the lessons.
Tell us straight away about any concern for a student's safety. We act on every report and inform the relevant authorities where required. If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999.
A few things help every lesson go well:
The student is ready at the start time, with the books and materials the lesson needs.
For at-home lessons, a quiet, well-lit table in a common area of the home.
Tell us about changes to the student's goals, exam dates, school or needs, so the tutor can plan.
A tutor helps a student learn, practise and prepare for their goals, whether a school subject, an exam, a language or a skill. Results depend on many things, including the student's own effort and how a school or exam board assesses them, so Educrest makes no promise of particular grades, scores or results.
Who owns what:
The text, design and logo on this website belong to Educrest. You may read and share our pages for personal use, and need our written permission for any other use.
Materials a tutor prepares for lessons are for the student's own study.
Past papers, textbooks and other published materials used in lessons belong to their publishers and exam boards.
We take reasonable care in choosing tutors, checking permits and arranging lessons.
Losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our failing to follow these terms or to take reasonable care.
As far as UAE law allows, we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, or for events outside our reasonable control.
Any responsibility that UAE law does not allow us to limit.
Either side can bring lessons to an end.
You can stop lessons as your quote sets out. Tell us, and we explain how any unused lessons are treated.
We may stop arranging lessons if these terms are broken, the safeguarding rules above all, or if we can no longer provide a suitable tutor. We tell you why, and unused lessons are handled as your quote sets out.
If something goes wrong, please tell us first. Most problems are settled quickly by talking them through.
These terms, and any dispute about them, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
A dispute that cannot be settled by agreement will be decided by the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates.
We update these terms when our service or the law changes.
This page always shows the current terms and the date they were last updated.
The terms in force when you accepted a quote apply to the lessons in that quote.
If a change affects anyone with lessons booked, we tell them before it applies.
